Handsome Joe
Handsome Joe and the other less handsome Joes is a strange collective of pure-bread Icelandic hill-billies. With their roots in towns with names you couldn´t even pronounce, they´ve worked on their music under circumstances that would drive any other musician nuts. In towns with nothing but a gas station that closes before dinnertime, and with not much else to do, they´ve taken their musical heritage of old-school Icelandic traditional music and mixed it with their sometimes not-so-current influences. We could name Tom Waits, Shellac, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash, Marlyn Monroe, Steve Ray, Notwist, Yo la tengo, Joy division and many others, but does that really give you any idea? No, you´re probably even more confused. So, why not drop by at Vídalín and see what these guys are all about? They´ve previously been in bands such as lúna, Serðir Monster, Punk ass m.f. and eksetra. But that was then and this is now. Now.. nownow. Now!
